Toriko's search for God

The video I use here for my Toriko reflection starts, and ends, with what I think is really

important not just about the series, but also in life.  Basically, what it says at these points in the video

is that it is okay to be different, to like things that other people may not like, and that we are pretty

much all the same despite what we do.  There are many ways to achieve the same ultimate goal in

life, which is self - actualization, or self - realization.  In the anime/manga series Toriko, for

example, we see an example of this in Toriko's search for God.

The anime/manga series Toriko focuses on the main character Toriko in his search for God, which

is an ingredient he needs to accomplish his own self - actualization.  Anime/manga tends to have

interesting interpretations of God (both direct and indirect) and Toriko is an example of this (the fact

that God is eventually revealed as a giant and powerful frog makes it more interesting).  However,

the search for God is what I would like to focus on here.  In Toriko, Toriko searches for God with the

help of others, which is more helpful than doing it by yourself in order to have people help you

(especially when others are also searching for God).  This is one of the important aspects of

searching for God.

Another important aspect of searching for God is understanding what that means.  This depends

on what God, and such a search, means to you.  God is able to find you, so a search wouldn't

be necessary.  However, a search for God is still important in order to realize that God is able to find

you.  In other words, the search for God that is necessary is learning more about yourself and

discovering in that process what you really want and need for yourself.

Toriko's search for God may be a rather interesting adventure, but it's through this interesting

adventure that we can see an example of what a search for God can be like.  It may be different and

not what you like, but we are ultimately the same despite our differences.
