Life lessons from Spirited Away

In addition to graduate school work, I also spend my time now in prayer with my community since

I'm still living with my community now.  This past week, we have been celebrating Holy Week as we

do every year, and have started celebrating Easter Week today with Easter Sunday.  We do all of this

now with changes that reflect what is going on in the world now and mindful of the fact that most

people aren't doing these things in person this year.  We can still do things we usually do, like celebrate

Holy Week or Easter Sunday, but in different ways.  An example of this can be seen in the film

Spirited Away, meaning what we usually do, and learn, can be done in different ways based on what

happens, which is seen in the video for this reflection about the life lessons from this film.

Basically, the film Spirited Away starts off with a regular girl who is moving to a new experience

with her parents, which is something she doesn't want to do.  For most of the film, this same regular

girl learns more about herself and what she has to do in order to keep moving forward with her parents,

as well as be ready, willing, and able to do that.  There are probably many other things you can take

away from this film, but these life lessons, which are emphasized by the video in this reflection, are

what I feel to be the most important things you can take away from it.
