The characterization of Baccano!

On the blog for the martial arts class that I help with here in the Spring

(https://sbpmartialarts.blogspot.com/ - we aren't doing these classes this year due to the pandemic),

one of my anime posts is of boxing moments in anime.  One of these moments is from the anime

Baccano!, which actually has nothing to do with boxing, but is a scene that I figured was worth

adding.  What also interests me about this scene is the boxer in it.  In order to say more about it for that

class, and to know more about it in general, I got around to watching Baccano! recently.  It's not only

this character that makes this anime memorable, but as the video for this reflection suggests, all of the

characters do that since the story and plot aren't as good as its characterization.

By saying the story and plot of Baccano! isn't as good as its characterization, I mean the story and

plot aren't as clear as its characterization.  Besides, things happen in anime because of what characters

do.  The plot and story are part of that.  Focusing more on the characters in an anime gives the anime

itself more character.  This is true in life too.  Life, like the plot and story of anime, isn't always clear,

especially in times like these.  What matters in life is what we, the characters, do.
