Expressing yourself in Given

Before starting up my anime club for this school year again near the end of last month, several students

contacted me about being interested in it.  When asking for information from them, one of the students

responded with information I didn't even ask for (only one who responded to it anyway - I'm still not sure

what I'm doing with this club).  Anyway, part of the response from this student was mentioning her favorite

anime song, which is a song from an anime called Given.  After watching this anime for myself, as well as

finding a video about it for this reflection, I realized that this song from an anime called Given is really the

song from an anime called Given, as well as that it, and the series itself, focuses on expressing yourself.

Expressing yourself is difficult and also requires many things, like knowing how to do it, having time to

do it, having people to help you do it, etc.  Music, whether singing and/or playing an instrument, or

instruments, is one way to express yourself, which is the form of expression that this anime focuses on.

Like I said, having time to express yourself is a requirement and it's a usual requirement, but expressing

yourself happens at certain moments, which is also what this anime focuses on.  Having people to help you

express yourself by encouraging you to express yourself is also important.  The anime also focuses on that.

As for me, expressing myself virtually is difficult for me.  There are things that I want to do, but doing

them virtually is difficult, which is why I usually don't do it, except for my anime club.  I want to do this

club, but doing it virtually is difficult.  Doing it in person now, which is an option, would also be difficult.  I

like using my writing to express myself, which is what I do with this blog, and other things like

graduate school (examples of that are also on this blog now), but it doesn't always work.  I guess what

really matters is expressing yourself, even if you don't really know how to do it, since it also helps you

move on, which is also seen in the anime Given.
