Consciousness in ID: INVADED

     The course that I am currently taking in my graduate school program now is called Origin and 

Destiny of Human Consciousness.  In this course, we study various theories about consciousness, 

including ideas of how consciousness works.  ID: INVADED is an example of an anime that also 

focuses on ideas of how consciousness works.  In addition to doing conscious police work, as well as 

living their lives consciously, which is what is usually seen in anime, the police work in ID: INVADED 

is also done unconsciously by exploring the unconscious mind of criminals.  

     As the video for this reflection mentions, this anime is complicated and takes a lot of understanding 

in order to understand it, including understanding how it ends and if it will continue.  The main thing 

that I have been getting out of my Origin and Destiny of Human Consciousness course is that 

consciousness is something that we really can't understand.  There are theories and ideas of how 

consciousness works, but these are just theories and ideas.  We can also have theories and ideas about 

this anime, but these are just theories and ideas.
