Moving forward in Zombieland Saga

Idol anime is something I never really watched before Zombieland Saga, but I wasn't really expecting
it to be an idol anime. As the video for this reflection mentions, Zombieland Saga isn't a usual idol anime
(if I do watch other idol anime in the future, it will have to be like this one). There are several reasons for
this, but I think that this can be summed up by the idea of moving forward, meaning it actually goes
somewhere.
Before the characters who are now zombies became zombies, they were living their lives as normal
girls. Coming back as zombies somehow and for some reason that none of them really asked for (but
most likely wanted anyway - this part isn't really explained in the anime and the explanations for it in the
video are theories) is a way to continue what they started (or wanted to start). The only way to get
anywhere is to move forward. The past does help you with this in terms of motivation, not by dwelling
on it. You can't change what has already happened. You can change what will and is happening. It also
leads to them getting their revenge in the second season for what they tried to do before the second season
started (and a continuation with a third season? I don't know what will come of the live action movie
announced recently.).
