Monks in anime: Kyousougiga

     When I watched the anime Kyousougiga for the first time, I was too focused on the idea of a monk 

starting a family since I watched it for my monks in anime series.  However, as the video for this 

reflection explains, a priest, who is actually a god (god of life) is the one who starts a family with one of 

his creations, who happens to have the same name as one of the other characters.  This can be somewhat 

confusing and make it a little difficult to follow, but this anime is definitely about family, which the video 

for this reflection also explains.

      Family is important for everyone and everyone has a role in their family no matter what the role or 

family.  Whether you are an actual monk (there are several kinds of monks - anime tends to offer 

interesting examples), someone who is like a monk (whatever that means), or anyone else, your role in 

your family is important.  Your personality also shapes what happens with your family and your role in it.  

Kyousougiga is an anime that offers an interesting example of what family is, as well as what it can be.
