Living in Mars Red

Is it better to live as an immortal being or as a mortal human?  Mars Red is an anime that takes a look

at this question in an interesting way by offering a different kind of vampire anime that focuses on how

these vampires live as opposed to humans.  The video for this reflection is an analysis of one of the

episodes in this series that is an example of this.  Living forever as a vampire is a good way to prevent

people like soldiers from being killed in war, but at the cost of having human experiences like dying with

friends, family, and other loved ones unless they become vampires too, which is not likely or something

you should plan on happening since it doesn't happen a lot apparently.  Another important human

experience is being able to go into the sunlight without any problems.  Living forever at the cost of not

being able to go into the sunlight doesn't seem worthwhile at all.  You could figure out how to make aging

vampires, which the anime tries to do, in order to do something about the immortality issue, but I would

think that doing something about the sunlight issue would be important too.
