The differences between male and female thinking in Wonder Egg Priority

The following first paragraph is from one of my assignments in a course that I took in graduate school,
which I recently finished. I also used the video for this reflection in that assignment (I used it for what
one of the characters said):
Interestingly enough, in a recent episode of one of the new anime this season that I am watching, one
character says that men are goal-oriented and women are emotion-oriented. The episodes of this anime
air every Tuesday, so it happened to be before I started reading ahead for this current week. The
readings for this current week also happen to include an article about male and female brains being built
differently. “This could mean … that men tend to see issues and resolve them directly, due to the strong
connections between the “perception” and “action” areas of their brains, while women might be more
inclined to combine logic and intuition when solving a problem” (Khazan, 2012, p. 2). In other words,
men are usually goal-oriented, or usually think more with the left hemisphere of their brains, and
women are usually emotion-oriented, or usually think more with the right hemisphere of their brains.
Even though it was referring to differences between male and female suicide when it was said in the
anime, I still think the idea that men are usually (not always) goal-oriented and women are usually (not
always) emotion-oriented is a good way to understand the differences between male and female
thinking.
I wrote this first paragraph in early February of this year during the time that the anime Wonder Egg
Priority was airing most of its episodes. I waited until now to post something about the anime because
it aired a special episode yesterday (that's when I saw it), so I was waiting to see what would happen in
the special episode and if it would change my thoughts about the series or add some new thinking to my
thoughts about it. What the special episode did instead is make me understand it in the light of my
thoughts about the series before seeing this special episode since it did not make much sense to me. In
other words, what helped me understand the special episode is what I thought about the series before
seeing it, which is that the thinking of the characters was influenced by either their emotions or goals
depending on who they were. For more of an explanation of the ending, check out the following link:
