Monks in anime: Oseam

 https://ww1.gogoanimes.org/watch/oseam-episode-1 - 14:10 - 17:10 and 22:15 - 22:55

There's a community of Buddhist monks in the anime movie Oseam, which is seen in the first part I

show of the video for this reflection (the video is the movie itself), but only three of them, which are the

three in the second part of the video, are mentioned in the information about monks in anime.  In both

parts of the video, two of the younger monks, who are simply referred to as Buddhist Monk and Heavyset

Monk, try to stop a young boy from making a scene, the first part being in prayer with the other monks

(they are the only monks who try to stop him) and the second part being when they walking with the third

monk known as the Elder Monk.  In the first part, the Elder Monk continues what he's doing, which is

leading prayer for the other monks of the community, while chaos ensues with the young boy trying to

interrupt them and the two monks trying to stop him.  Trying to stop this chaos only makes the chaos

worse, which is most likely why the Elder Monk doesn't do anything about it.  The chaos resolves itself

eventually anyway, which the Elder Monk most likely knew would happen too.  If something, or even

someone, interrupts your prayer, then just keep praying instead of going against what is interrupting you

(pray for it, not against it).  It can also help you see the good in what is happening, which can be seen in

the second part of the video when once again the Buddhist Monk and Heavyset Monk try to stop the

young boy from making a scene, but the Elder Monk sees the good in what the boy can do.
