Anime Lectio: Link Click (mostly 1st season)
1. Why do Anime Lectio?
Anime Lectio is a time for us to stop and take a breath. Between work, activities, family life, and social media, our minds are always moving. We rarely take time to contemplate and ask, why am I watching this anime? What’s the point of all this? And, how is this making me feel?
2. Put away all distractions
(phones, work, etc.)
We are so enslaved to things that stimulate our minds. Let this be a moment for us to free our minds, look inside of ourselves, and be at peace.
3. Deep Breathing
Take several deep breaths. Let your mind relax. If you’ve had any questions, desires, or struggles that you’ve been hiding or stuffing away, let them rise up to the surface.
4. Open yourself to God’s Presence
Remember God places all our thoughts and desires inside of us, and He uses them to draw us closer to Himself. God gives us a community to help us understand who we are and what He is calling us to do. The faces of other people you know and don't know are like signs of God’s presence.
5. Think About What’s on Your Mind in Relation to the Anime
Think about what’s been on your mind in relation to the anime. The following is an example of such thoughts written by me.
Changing something in the past is something that a lot of people usually would like to do. However, what if what you want to change can change other things too? If the change you want to make changes other things for the better, then I guess that would be good, but if the change you want to make makes other things worse, then I guess that wouldn't be good. Not being certain about what change does, or can do, doesn't help, so it's better to focus on what you can and/or are supposed to do. An interesting example of all of this can be seen in the anime series Link Click (mostly the 1st season of it).
6. Brief and written explanation of the anime
Pay attention to how the brief and written explanation of the anime seen on this blog, or seeing the anime for yourself since that's better than any explanation, might “speak” to you or shed light on the things that have been on your minds.
The first season of the anime series Link Click starts off with two male childhood friends who run a photography studio together thanks to their third female friend, who is their landlady. The photography studio these friends run, however, is no ordinary photography studio as the two male friends have abilities where one can go into photographs while the other stays behind to tell the one in the photo what to do while they're in the photo. The two friends use these abilities to help people with past problems from helping people remember important information to finding lost children. As the first season ends, it gets a lot more mysterious, which leads into the even more mysterious second season.
7. Reflect on the anime
Has this brief and written explanation of the anime shed any light on what's been on your minds? The following is an example of a reflection on the anime from me.
An interesting factor in wanting to change a past event is knowing what happened, either by just knowing about it and/or having experienced what happened. In the anime series Link Click, what makes this more interesting is that the one friend who goes into the past via pictures is actually experiencing what's going on in the past, either in his own body or in the body of someone else depending on the picture used to go into the past (this happens in both seasons). Just knowing about the past event and/or having experienced it is enough to want to do something about it, even if what you do doesn't really change anything or change anything on a grand scale. Actually experiencing it yourself makes you want to do something about it, even if it isn't something you should do in order to focus on what you can and/or are supposed to do.
8. Final Prayer
Please voice any prayer intentions for friends, family, or people around the world that relate to this anime. The following is an example written by me.
Let us pray that we can focus on what we can and/or are supposed to do instead of just what we would like to do.
