The meaning of growing up in FLCL

When watching FLCL recently, I noticed that there are three distinct parts to it. I guess these
parts are three different seasons, but it seems to be more than that. For the exception of one
character, the characters in each part are different. There are also other differences between these
parts, like the names of each one that indicates what they are like, meaning that the first part is the
original (just FLCL), the second part is telling the original story in a different way (FLCL
Progressive), and the third part offers another explanation for what happens in the previous parts
(FLCL Alternative). No matter what happens in each part, which is why there are three videos (one
for each part), each part talks about the same thing - the meaning of growing up.
What does growing up mean? I think that it's more than just development, as explained in a
previous post when talking about psychosocial theory. It's being able to not only let changes happen,
but also accepting them. Change is inevitable. What is not exactly inevitable is accepting it. FLCL
shows this in rather interesting ways that demonstrate that growing up is different for everyone
(gives three distinct examples of this).
