Progress in Paprika
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XMonh0QyKHs - 7:41
I have a retreat this weekend with my monastic community starting tomorrow night and ending on
Sunday. Even though we aren't going anywhere, I still feel as though I should do my post for this
week before this retreat starts. I have talked to a friend via Facebook about the movie I reflect on in
this post since working on my previous post. He mentioned that Paprika is like the anime
predecessor of the movie Inception. I never saw Inception, but I know what it's about and that like
the movie Paprika, it involves the use of dreams. However, as the video I use for this reflection
suggests, Paprika is more than just a movie about using dreams. It also talks about the importance of
progress.
As the video also mentions, progress is like a storm. Using dreams to help with this progress is
just part of this storm. Dreams themselves are also a storm, meaning a storm is also part of this
storm of progress. Like progress, dreams are difficult to figure out due to their nature of being like
storms. However, in order to figure them out, they both need to be experienced in both reality and
fiction, or when awake and asleep.
