The battle between hope and despair in Danganronpa
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z67AuoD67oY - 9:02
Danganronpa is the other anime that has come up in my anime club recently (also from the only
female member - other anime that I'm interested in, and haven't seen yet, haven't come up yet and I
plan to start up the meetings again when we start school again in September; I will also focus on the
anime here - I know it's also a video game, but I haven't played it and don't plan to). What I like
about this anime is that it has an obvious theme of the battle between hope and despair, which the
video in this reflection talks about (all parts of the series talk about this theme, not just the parts this
video focuses on). The battle between hope and despair is one of those battles that will never end,
like the battle of the sexes or something like that. This also implies that completely getting rid of
hope and/or despair is not possible since they can't be destroyed. You can't destroy ideas and
mindsets, which is what hope and despair are.
