Monks in anime: Brothers Conflict

     Brothers Conflict is a rather interesting anime to start this series with.  I was hoping there wouldn't be 

incest associated with monks in anime, but I guess there is.  It's important to talk with people 

about your feelings for others and if anything, something like Brothers Conflict is an example of why 

doing that is important.  The video that I focus on is a scene from episode ten that shows all three of the 

monks in the series together.  While this episode does have more about these monks, it this this scene that 

I would like to focus on.  

     The only monk in this scene who says anything meaningful is one of the two monks who only appears 

in this episode.  The one who has an important conversation with the little sister of one of the other 

monks seems to be the senior monk (meaning the most experienced of the three) and knows what he's 

talking about.  Love is complicated and everyone worries about love in some way depending on who they 

are.  I guess it would make sense for a monk to know this, but there's more to being a real monk than just 

saying this.  A real monk should also be living what he says in his own way, meaning in the way they are 

supposed to live, which the monk with the little sister needs to do a better job with (let's just put it that 

way).
