Monks in anime: Red Data Girl

     Monks are also known as ascetics, which refers to the lifestyle that monks should live.  This lifestyle is 

seen in many different ways, like in living alone as a hermit or living with other monks in a community.  

The kind of ascetic that one of the monks in the series Red Data Girl is is an ascetic who forms a 

partnership with a medium, which is seen and mentioned in the first video.  There is another monk, but he 

is mostly there to create, establish, and help to explain this partnership.  In the second video, this 

partnership is tested by a friend of these partners in order to see how strong this partnership is.  Monks 

need help in what they do and there are several ways that this can happen.  A monk having friendships, as 

well as a partnership with a medium, is one of these ways, which is seen in the series Red Data Girl.
