     The monk in the anime movie First Squad: The Moment of Truth seems to be a hermit (lives in a 

house by himself) who finds the main character and starts to help her with what she has to do, which is 

seen in the first video for this reflection.  At the end of this video, the monk appears to have been killed 

when trying to stop the characters who are after the main character, but he appears again in the beginning 

of the second video and, after explaining how he survived, he continues to explain to the main character 

what she has to do.  After he finishes telling her what she has to do in the war, which involves attacking at 

the right moment, or the moment of truth, he isn't seen again in the movie, so it's like he's there to help the 

main character with what he knows she has to do.
