Anime Lectio: Zom 100 - Bucket List of the Dead

                                                             1. Why do Anime Lectio?

Anime Lectio is a time for us to stop and take a breath. Between work, activities, family life, and social media, our minds are always moving. We rarely take time to contemplate and ask, why am I watching this anime? What’s the point of all this? And, how is this making me feel?

2. Put away all distractions

(phones, work, etc.)

We are so enslaved to things that stimulate our minds. Let this be a moment for us to free our minds, look inside of ourselves, and be at peace.

3. Deep Breathing

Take several deep breaths. Let your mind relax. If you’ve had any questions, desires, or struggles that you’ve been hiding or stuffing away, let them rise up to the surface.

4. Open yourself to God’s Presence

Remember God places all our thoughts and desires inside of us, and He uses them to draw us closer to Himself. God gives us a community to help us understand who we are and what He is calling us to do. The faces of other people you know and don't know are like signs of God’s presence.

5. Think About What’s on Your Mind in Relation to the Anime

Think about what’s been on your mind in relation to the anime.  The following is an example of such thoughts written by me.

Do you really know what you want to do with your life?  It's possible to think you know what you want to do with your life based on what you like to do and working somewhere where you can do what you like to do, but that doesn't mean you will like where you do it, especially if it's not what it seems to be when you first get there.  Getting out of such a situation isn't easy, if you consider that an option, and it doesn't always just happen randomly for some reason, but an example of that can be seen in the anime series Zom 100 - Bucket List of the Dead.

6. Brief and written explanation of the anime

Pay attention to how the brief and written explanation of the anime seen on this blog, or seeing the anime for yourself since that's better than any explanation, might “speak” to you or shed light on the things that have been on your minds.

A young man who dreams of working for a certain company quickly realizes that this company isn't as great as he thought it was, despite his warm reception into it and being treated nicely when he first gets there, since the employees there are severely overworked. One day, a zombie apocalypse situation starts and the young man realizes that he doesn't have to go to work anymore and can do whatever he want, despite what's going on around him. He decides to start a list of 100 things he wants to before he becomes a zombie, which involves adventures of finding friends to join him in what he wants to do, or allies to help him with that, helping to stop others from ruining that, and continuing these adventures by traveling with his friends.

7.  Reflect on the anime

Has this brief and written explanation of the anime shed any light on what's been on your minds?  The following is an example of a reflection on the anime from me.

Like I said in my reflection before the brief and written explanation of the anime, getting out of a bad situation isn't easy. It happens to be an option in this anime due to getting lucky in a weird way, which is an interesting way of making the most out of a bad situation, but as I also said in that reflection, it's an option to get out of a bad situation. Getting out of a bad situation isn't something that you should always do. It should depend on what the situation is. Getting yourself out of a bad work environment that you clearly can't change, or make better by changing yourself, is good, but only if you can't change it and yourself by changing it. Knowing and understanding the difference requires discernment, which can and should involve prayer, about what you really want, not what you think you want.

8. Final Prayer

Please voice any prayer intentions for friends, family, or people around the world that relate to this anime.  The following is an example written by me.

Let us pray that we can know and understand the difference between what we really want and what we think we want.
